Chapter 8
“Anything for you. Which one do you want?”
“Bring me the green one,” (I’m horrible with names) “the one with the steering wheel on the right. And bring the one you like best. I’ll mail you my key to the garage. He works all day so feel free to stop by anytime.”
I knew Dempsey loved his collector cars. He never drove them. Just collected. In a week, two of his precious beings would be here. Take my bank account and I’ll take your cars, bastard.
I knew this was just the beginning.

Good for you, being so brave and not making the narrator know the makes/models/years of the cars. 🙂 My husband is big on collectible cars, too, and I know he’d demand to know the details. 🙂

She doesn’t know them because her creator doesn’t eiher 🙂 I did try to figure it out but realized that my character has no interest in her husband’s collection other than what they’re worth – in both sentiment and value.

Oh .. you feel a comeback coming… going after the collector cars will sting.

In the previous chapter her husband cleaned out her bank account so stealing the cars was payback. No doubt he’ll be pissed and try for his own revenge. But she’s holding a trump card that he’s forgotten about 🙂

Very clever idea to connect the different pictures, but quite a challenge too. Really enjoyed the story, and the line about having all this time on your hands was especially great.

Thanks! Glad you liked it. It has been quite the challenge connecting the pictures. They have dictated which direction the story went. I think I’ve managed to make it work, though 🙂

You did. It can be good for a writer to have the control taken out of their hands every now and again, and this was an inspired way for you to do this.
