I’ve been doing this share thing since I was inspired by A Momma’s View‘s “My Pick’s of the Week”. I think that was a long time ago, like when Yoda was just a baby. I started it because I really enjoyed finding new blogs to follow through her lists and wanted to help spread that joy like peanut butter on a PBJ. I learned quickly that other enjoyed my lists and it helps them become known.

Then I learned about the perks. Sometimes, people want to share me because I shared them and love getting those emails saying I need to approve that new pingback. It’s like having your cake and eating it, too. It’s like when the kids willingly help with chores. It’s a virtual fist bump.

Sunday Share Week 4

Some bug has infected our house so you might want to read this from a safe distance. Definitely wash your hands with soap and hot water afterwards. Bang caught it last Thursday. Crash caught it last night. I’m not feeling so hot myself. With the exception of DW and Bang going grocery shopping it’s been a pretty quiet day around here.  But you didn’t come here for that. Or at least I hope you didn’t. You came to find some good reads. So what did I find for you this fourth week of January?

Sunday Share: One More Week!!!

So Friday was a snow day here. We got about 8 inches of snow Thursday night. Then the winds picked up to about 80 kph (50 mph). All that snow and all that wind made a combo as messy as the number 2 from Taco Bell. Then Saturday the temperature dropped to -14 C with a -28 C windchill (8 F with a windchill of -18F). Then today it’s 10 C (50F). Go home Mother Nature. You’re drunk!

Wherever this last weekend before Christmas finds you, I hope it finds you happy and healthy.

Homepage Pingbacks

I’ve noticed something peculiar happening lately. It’s not just me, either. Other’s have expressed the same complaint to me in the past. I don’t receive a notification of all the pingbacks other bloggers post. It seems to be only links to my homepage that I’m not notified about. I did a test myself during my Month in Review post. I linked to five posts and my homepage. I should have received six notices but I only got five. The link to my homepage never came.

I have found that others gave me a shout out in a post. However, I only noticed it because I was reading their blog directly, not because of a pingback.

Anyone else have this problem and/or understand it? Linking directly to a post provides a notification but linking to a homepage provides nothing.
