A Month in Review

The month of May was kind to me. I had six fewer posts than April because April was the A-Z challenge. I had 24 posts in May. My number of views was down a bit, too, 737 in April dropped to 581 in May. However, my number of visitors rose ever so slightly from 182 to 187. My likes dropped from 223 to 203  and the number of comments dropped from 271 to 144.

Other than my home page, my most popular post in May was “Where’s the line“. The top three countries to visit last month were the U.S.A., Canada, and South Korea.

A huge thanks to OM for reblogging that post. My number of followers grew from 77 to 100. My newest followers are Mom Meets Blog, Did You Dress Up For This, and Desirable Love. Thanks for following! Will you be the next? Just click the follow button over there on the right side or the one at the top. No account necessary!

I’m not even going to discuss my 1,000 mile challenge. I didn’t run a single time in Canada. However, I did run 4 miles in Florida. I’m going to have to run far this summer.

A Month in Review

I was really surprised how March played out stats wise. As usual, everything went up up up. March was my third month of blogging. I had 22 posts which is actually down 3 from February. My most popular post by far, and it’s still getting views is The Value of a Teacher with 472 views which is 5 times more than the second most popular post. March brought 1,035 views and 649 visitors. That’s up 274 views and 321 visitors. The busiest day was March 5th with 279. There were 146 likes which is up 25. There were 136 comments which is up only 2 from February. AnnGrubbsnCritters was the top commenter and Anxious Mom was a close second. Thanks! In March I gained 24 more followers (56 total) and had visits from 24 different countries which is a 4 countries more than February. For the second month running the US, Canada and UK were the top three countries to visit my blog.

In other updates, I ran 100.8 miles in March. I’d like to keep this up for the remainder of the year, possible adding on a few more! I am currently at 217 miles for this year. As of March 1st, I was down 60 miles. I am now only 35 miles behind my target of 252. Two more 100 mile months will get me caught up and surpass that deficit.

I like statistics. I always did well in my statistics courses. I also like WordPress’s statistics page. I can look at various stats per day, per week, per month, and even per year. I just finished my 2nd month of blogging at WordPress. Here’s how my second month compares with my first month.

                January                                   Februrary                            Difference
Views         242                                            761                                       +519
Avg/Day      8                                                27                                        +19
Posts          18                                              25                                         +7
Likes           34                                             121                                        +87
Comments  9                                               134                                        +125

Countries     9                                              20                                          +11

The top 3  countries to visit my blog in January hailed from the USA, Canada, and UK. However, in February, Thailand took over the 3rd spot and moved the UK to 4th. My top post in January was With an open heart with 47 views. In February, my Home Page/Archives took over first with 110 views.

My busiest day was on February 3rd with 74 views. I participated in WordPress’s Blogging 201 course and I credit that my increase in stats for the month of February. I also started doing some fictional writing through Friday Fictioneers and that has helped draw traffic as well.

In other updates…
February was a slow month for running. I only covered 38 miles. 84 is my goal per month. This put me 46 miles behind for the month of February plus 14 miles behind for January for a grand total of 60 miles behind. I’m going to blame the snow and ice. I have some miles to make up, but it’s not out of reach.
