10 Questions I Ask My Kids: Travel Edition

We are now at DW’s brother’s and sister-in-law’s house for a visit with them and their four kidlets. They’ve taken us and our crazies in for a couple nights. It’s always great visiting with them and getting caught up. The cousins love seeing and playing with each other, too.

The Discovery Center was good, though it wasn’t great because of the number of people and the number of people who’s kids were inconsiderate and the parents were either nowhere to found or had their noses glued to their cell phone. So it didn’t leave much time for learning. However, I did learn about my patience in a public setting. Turns out it’s pretty good. On the plus side, though, the boys got to see a liquid nitrogen demonstration.

Sunday Share Week 10

Welcome to week 10. Week 9 was supposed to be lucky because 9 is a lucky number in this house. It was and and it wasn’t. My new GoPro arrived in the mail a month after I sent my broken one back to them. So be on the look out for some fun YouTube videos. Then yesterday we went to file our taxes only to find out we owe. WTH? We don’t owe much, just enough to be annoying.

On a more positive note, I’m not sure if you’ve heard of this “new” show called Little Big Shots. I say new, but it’s second season just premiered tonight. What a fantastic, family friendly show. If you haven’t seen it, Steve Harvey interviews kids who are either smart, funny, or talented and they never fail to disappoint. I made sure to record it as the boys love to watch it, too. I can’t wait to see their reaction to the 6 year old basketball player.

Hope all y’all have a spectacular week! Here’s what I liked reading last week…

J.A. Allen

Dorky Mom Doodles
Why can’t our kids be like this at home, too?

Return of the Modern Philosopher
If Satan had my barber…

A Momma’s View
Where little boys go…

10 Questions I Asked My Kids

I had these questions ready last night so I could ask them this morning before they left for school. We woke this morning to the diggers, dumpers, and graders in our neighborhood replacing our driveways. That’s a story for Monday though.

When there’s nothing to complain about we complain about the weather. Since I’ve got nothin’…

Right now we’re in the “it’s too rainy phase”. If only we could bottle it up and send it out west to help kill the fire beast. Our plants are drowning! It has rained all week. With the exception of this weekend, they’re predicting rain for all of next week, too.

Fortunately, that doesn’t stop Bang from enjoying some good puddle jumping. After school yesterday he put on his bathing suit and did just that. I’ll join him later in the summer when it’s warmer than 12 C (55F).

So we hunker down and wait for it pass. Watch some movies, build some Legos, play some computer games, try not drive each other mental until bedtime. Some days it’s tough to even just look at each other.

10 Questions I Asked My Kids (Episode 4)

It’s Thursday and you know that means. I’ve got 10 more questions for my kids. This week should be good. Plenty of room for some creativity and some unique answers. As you can see, this is the fourth time I’ve asked them questions. Crash looks forward to it. Bang answers them, but occasionally responds with “I don’t know what you’re talking about.” He knows, he just doesn’t feel like answering. A bit of cajoling and he’ll come out with something.

Yesterday was a crazy long day. We left home at 8:30am and didn’t get home until 9pm. I’ll tell ya all about it later. Today’s post, though, is still happening. Sort of later than usual but it’s still Thursday so it counts.

I’ve scoured the internet for questions. While I do have many collected now, they’re not as much fun. At least they don’t seem like it. If you have any suggestions for questions to ask them just leave them in the comments. There’s no telling how they’ll get answered. Also, if you have asked your kids any of these questions, I’d love to hear their answers. They really do say the darndest things.
