Celebrating One Thousand

If a picture is worth a thousand words, what are a thousand posts worth?

1,000 nanseconds is 1 microsecond. (there are 1 billion nanoseconds in 1 second)
1,000 microseconds is .001 seconds.

1,000 seconds is 16 minutes and 40 seconds.
1,000 minutes is 16 hours and 40 minutes.
1,000 hours is 41 days, 15 hours, 59 minutes, and 59 seconds.
1,000 days is 2 years, 8 months, 3 weeks, 5 days, 11 hours, 33 minutes, and 19 seconds.
A thousand years ago it was 1018.
A thousand years from now it will be 3018.

Imagine what the world was like a thousand years ago.

  • The world’s population was about 250 million
  • China created gunpowder
  • The Myans and Hindus discover the concept of zero
  • The Anglo-Saxon calendar was produced
  • Printing became standardized
  • My parents graduated from University
  • I was born

I wish I had a $1,000. Any givers out there?

Also, this is my 1,000th post. It took me 1,777 days to get to this point. My very first post is here. While that was “The Beginning” this certainly isn’t the end.

Help me celebrate by leaving a comment down below. I will follow it up by reading your blog and leaving you a comment too. If you’re really lucky, what I read could end up on my next Sunday Share!

Cheers to 1,000 and here’s to 1,000 more!

  1. Hello there Eric πŸ™‚
Found your blog through Trina’s reblog, and just wanted to wish you a happy 1000th!! Congratulations!! Isn’t it incredible to see what day by day posting can add up to be?? πŸ™‚

    • Hi Cyranny! I have read your blog a few times. I am familiar with your site from A Momma’s View. I’m glad you found your way here. Thanks, Trina! πŸ˜€ I never dreamed I’d have a 1,000 posts when I first started blogging. It’s going to be really fun to go back and read them one day…

      • I did see you around too, a couple of times πŸ™‚ But for some reason, I hadn’t crashed your blog yet. Glad I did this time!!

I just went passed # 2000 two weeks ago. I sat down and thought “If you had done serious writing, instead of fooling around in your blog, you’d have a couple of books to try to sell, gal!” And then I thought “Yeah but I probably would have sold only a couple of copies anyway” and then I thought “Yeah… Might as well stay with all the nice bloggers and do my best to entertain!”

Yeah, I think a lot. Hehehehehehe

      • Our posts are between 500 and a thousands words (some over that, even!). 1,000 posts at 750 words is 750,000 words! That’s 10 books! (or one George RR Martin book)
