My Ark is complete. The animals were loaded two by two. Here we are in the backyard…
As you can see we’re flooded. Okay, so technically it’s not that bad. But remember when I showed you our forecast and it said rain until Wednesday? Now it’s going to rain until Saturday. That’s 8 days of rain. It hasn’t been on and off either. It’s been steady, beat the windows, drown a fish kind of rain. I think I’ve got swamp foot.
I’m going to worship the sun when it comes back.
The rain has now overstayed its welcome so I will now poke fun at it. Perhaps if it sees it’s unwelcome it’ll pack up and move out.
Good bye!
Adios!
Au revoir!
Totsiens!
Tot ziens!
Auf wiedersehen!

Sounds dripping wet. One good thing about Melbourne and its crazy weather is we don’t get the same weather for more than 2-3 days . It changes . The bad thing is we get sick easily from the crazy weather hot one day freezing cold the next.

That sounds like our Sept/Oct. Warm and cold and the kids back to school and the germs grow exponentially. We are dripping wet. It started last Friday and has been raining since and will continue to rain today and tomorrow!

It’s all year here . In Summer it can be nice and sunny 38C at lunch and a change comes and 18C in the afternoon with rain hail and whatever else. The temp can drop 20 degrees in just an hour or two. That’s why we end up a bit crazy like our weather.

Wow… that’s quite the change. That happens only on very rare occassions here.

I’m not really complaining about the rain. I enjoy the rain. The farmers (I used to work for one) love the rain. It’s just tough not being able to kick the kids outside when they go shack wacky 🙂

It’s all moving eastward so perhaps it’ll cross the pond and wet you down. Weird for England to be dry!

Do you really think the sun comes out and goes in? Where would it go?

It goes in the clouds where we can’t see it 😛

Does it go anywhere, Stomperdad?

Yep. It goes behind the clouds. Then it clears up and it comes out from behind the clouds.

You evidently never studied astronomy. The sun is roughly stationary to our frame of reference. I think most nine years know this. So the sun coming out is a an expression for eight year olds. [I should probably add that I’m having a great time playing the straight man in this dialogue.]

I’m sorry for stringing you along, Mikealixonline. I have studied astronomy (a bit), I’m a science teacher. I fully understand that “the sun came out” is just an expression. The sun is stationary (for all intents and purposes) and it’s only the clouds that move through our atmosphere. Therefore, the stars don’t “come out” either. They’re always there and they don’t move, either. It’s just the Earth rotating and revolving. Thanks for you explanations. You have definitely been paying attention!
