Here we are in October.
Surprise!
It’s the month of Canadian Thanksgiving and Halloween. Fortunately, they’re not on the same day. Though they could be. Family get togethers can be pretty scary sometimes. Imagine Thanksgiving with the Munsters.
September saw the first day of school and the first day of fall. I managed to publish 27 times. I’ve now posted 27 times three months in a row.
September also brought 1,415 views to my little blog. That’s 105 fewer than August. Since May my views have been holding steady at around 1500 views (give or take a few). Of those views, 499 became visitors. That’s a dip of 57 from August. Thank you visitors for hanging around, making yourself at home, and reading for a while. If you were really in my home I’d offer tea or coffee or margaritas.
The little blue like button was clicked 478 times for a decrease of 68.
There were 373 comments. This fell 120. I’m not concerned though. 373 comments in one month ain’t too shabby!
My blog has travelled the world over. 38 countries came to read. That’s 5 more countries than last month!
Besides my homepage, Taboo Words for the Taboo Word Challenge was the top read post with 56 views. The Taboo Challenge was great and everyone who participated did awesome. We were a small but highly dedicated group. In a close second place was Sunday Share with 52 views. In a close third with 48 views was Community where I discussed a phone call I received from a neighbor who called to inform me of a potential creep while our kids were outside playing.
I’m now up to 571 followers! That’s a gain of 27.
The top commentors had the closest competition I’ve ever seen on my blog. The top three commentors are separated by one comment each!
With 64 – Erika of That’s What Anxious Mom Said
With 63 – Ann of Grubbs n Critters
With 62 – A Momma’s View
With 44 – Daley Downing
With 30 – Elen Grey
With 19 – Karen van Benschoten
Thanks to everyone who participated in my Taboo Word Challenge. It was great fun even if it did force us to think a little more creatively than we are accustomed to. Thank you to every one who stops by to read this gibberish. Your comments and discussions make it all worth while!
Stats are such a fun part of blogging!! Congrats to your September 🙂 My September numbers were down as well. I wonder if it was just an overall theme?

Seems to be a theme. You’re the third one who has mentioned stats being lower than normal for September. I guess everyone was just to excited for fall to come read 🙂 The stats are fun, indeed! I’m start to post more regularly (the same time each day) so I’m curious to see if anything on that stats page changes.

Probably because it only had 30 days not 31 😉

In that case I’m dreading February! 😉

One!!! Ha! Well, we need to keep this up 😉 Hey, you mentioned that your little one had open heart surgery? Or was that your guest blogger? If it is the case have you written about it?

That was Crash who had heart surgery. I wrote about it. https://allinadadswork.wordpress.com/2015/01/27/with-an-open-heart/

I blame school starting again, and football season, for making people go elsewhere than to the blogisphere. It makes sense. 🙂 My stats have been low, too, for no apparent reason.

So many outside factors. I blame football. Perhaps the numbers will start to go up now that it’s getting dark earlier and cold weather is come in our half of the hemisphere. Perhaps it was WP stats page not counting properly.

Yes, let’s blame WP! 🙂 No, I honestly think it has to do with people making the most of the last of summer. And like you said, now that the weather’s changing and the routine, probably so will blog hits.

My stats went up a lot in September, but that’s because I posted almost twice as much as the months before. The views increase didn’t almost double, though.

Hmm Maybe I should start posting twice as much then. I don’t think I can publish 54 posts a month that would be worth reading 🙂 When I was looking up stats quotes most of them were about how stats lie.

Lol, well I went from 12 to 22 posts. Stats aren’t like hips 😉

Stats apparently are more like lips than hips.

I find your writings much more entertaining than gibberish! It was kind of cool to see my name there on your list of the top 6 commenters. I guess that makes me one of your top six fans. (?)

Glad you find them entertaining! Congrats on making the top 6. More importantly, thanks!
