You just gotta love cold, rainy Sundays.
No. No you don’t.
But it is what is. No point in complaining about it, though.
I do love listening to the rain. We listened to it pound the windows last night in bed. We listened to it patter the roof during church. The rain seems to bring all the finches to our feeder like we’re bird whisperers.
Besides the rain, you know what else is coming down? My stats. It’s really weird. All month my stats were stable and good. Then one day they dropped. not just one or two. But 20 or 30. That’s not much unless you only have 50 to begin with. That’s a 40-60% decrease. I’ll blame it on the first day of fall (or spring for my southie friends). Weird.
Nevermind the stats. I read and write and share anyway…

In China 8 is a lucky number and since I just found out I’m Chinese I have included 8 links.
*Note: I am not Chinese. Just a running joke from my brother-in-law’s father-in-law. A million bonus points to you if you can follow that lineage.
Two more notes…
I finally uploaded The Disappearing Wood Pile video to YouTube. It took us about 5 days to stack 16 cords of wood. One cord measures 4 feet by 4 feet by 8 feet. We had 16 of them. I also got up close and personal with some finches and time lapsed myself from the roof mowing the yard.
The second note is that I joined Instagram. You’ll find me @stomperdad over there.

Video coming soon to a YouTube near you…
Look at it this way: the 20 or 30 might have been spammers.
Now I wonder, should I worry about my numbers? So far, I haven’t…

I’m not worried about the numbers. Was just interesting that it dropped so suddenly. Good point about the spammers. I’m guess it was just the timing of my posts. Whatever the numbers are, I’m still writing! Thanks for stopping by! 😀

Yep! I’m out here every day myself.
I actually get more curious when my numbers go up precipitously…

They will go back up in no time.👍

I have no doubt they will 😀 I think it was just the timing of my posts. One day I had more readers on a day I didn’t post anything than a day that I did write. Oh well. They are what they are and I’m still writing! Thanks for stopping by!

Yeah! It’s impossible to tell if your post is going to do well, or if the week will bomb, because you forgot about this or that holiday or major event, or if people get sick, or internet connections go down in a country because of Typhoon Irene. 😛

Stats? Oye!! I have SO much to learn from you about this whole blogging thing. 😬

The first thing to learn is not to care about stats. 🙂

I like the stats pages, though I certainly don’t run my blog by them. There are so many factors in effect when it comes to your stats that it’s nearly impossible to determine their fluxuations. If you ever have any questions, just ask. I’m not expert, but maybe I can help or know someone who can. 😀 Happy blogging!

Stats are weird. I’ve noticed the same about the last few posts I’ve made, despite an increase in followers.
Thanks for the share 🙂

Exactly. I’m gaining followers but not readers. Though I’ve been trying to visit (not always follow back) each follower and leave a comment on their latest post to entice them to come back. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t.

I wonder how much is spam, as most followers lately never interact at all.

I wonder that, too. I get an email telling me so and so has subscribed and sometimes there’s no profile for their name, no recent blog entries. I don’t even bother to see if they even blog. I have my loyal readers and commenters and I’m okay with that 🙂
