Sunday Share 21

You know those parents who say, “I just wish I could be sick for them” referring to their sick kids feeling miserable?

I don’t believe them.

I’m not saying I don’t feel bad for their kids. Being sick sucks. Whether it’s a cold. A man cold. Or the flu. Being a parent is difficult enough. There’s no need to be sick with a fever and chills when the kids are begging to be fed, making messes all over the house, and being their usual monkey selves.

Ain’t nobody got time for that.

Anyway, on to the good stuff. Happy Sunday. Happy last week of Lent for you fasters.

A friend of mine, a running buddy, had just finished running 26.2 miles in Boston in 2013. He was sitting in the medical tent recovering when the bombs exploded. Because of his location at the time, he saw most of the victims prior to triage and being taken to hospital. Please visit his page and, if you can, help him reach his goal of $5,000 to 50 Legs, an organization working to empower those without. He’s running in honor of Celeste Corcoran. Her extremely inspirational video can be seen here.

Lastly, check out Crash’s YouTube channel. Show it to your kids. He has some new videos up. As does his comical little brother, Bang. If you already know DanTDM you’re ahead of the game.

    • Thanks. Crash is feeling better. His fever is gone, but he still has the cough. Bang was still running a fever last night. He’s still asleep as of 10:30 this morning. When he’s well he is awake by 6:30!

    • It’s so much fun. We have 5 hidden around our town (two of which need to be repaired). One got muggled and one was at a tiny park that was removed. It’s a great excuse to get out and often times find new places.

  1. Thanks for the shout-out Eric! Again, I knew because Silver Bullet told me. You’d be having some hits from Singapore in your stats this week. 😉
Checked out 3 and 4 in your list. Pretty hilarious!
Gotta love the bald guy. Lol.

  2. Thanks for sharing the kid quotes, Eric! I giggle every time I think about the note from Luke to his mom 🙂

For clarification purposes, what is the difference between a cold and a man cold?

    • You’re quite welcome for the share. They certainly made me laugh! A cold is just your run of mill average cold. A nuisance, but tolerable. A man-cold is one in which the world feels like it’s ending and you feel the need to tell everyone how miserable you are even though it’s really just a run of the mill average cold 🙂

      • Ahhhh, I’m with you now…

There’s sore after a session of lifting, and then there’s man-sore.

        There’s dirty diaper changing, and there’s man-dirty-diaper-changing.

Glad to finally possess the proper language for these hardships. 😉
