Sunday Share 20

My FitBit is lying to me. It’s telling me today was a lazy day. It’s saying I’m just under 6,000 steps at 9 pm. I know I did more than that!

  • I made chocolate chip banana pancakes for breakfast
  • I washed sheets from three beds
  • I washed comforters from three beds
  • I made three bed after everything was dry
  • I made two YouTube videos – one for Crash and one for Bang (don’t forget to supervise  subscribe)
  • I swept the kitchen floor
  • I took all the toys that were drug upstairs back to the basement
  • I went grocery shopping
  • I put those groceries away
  • I made pork tenderloin, smashed potatoes, carrots, and corn for supper
  • I helped two kids get ready for bed
  • I played Lego

Stupid thing. I felt busy, but according to FitBit I wasn’t. Ever had one of those day?

Now this I can relate to. Kids in grocery stores can be a nightmare.

And now and then an elephant all white.

A friend of mine, a running buddy, had just finished running 26.2 miles in Boston in 2013. He was sitting in the medical tent recovering when the bombs exploded. Because of his location at the time, he saw most of the victims prior to triage and being taken to hospital. Please visit his page and, if you can, help him reach his goal of $5,000 to 50 Legs, an organization working to empower those without.

  1. I don’t have a Fitbit. Instead I rely on the health app on my phone, which is a glorified step and flights of stairs counter. So many exercise activities don’t fall into those categories, when my numbers are low I can always find a way to justify it.

    • You’re right. There are many activities that don’t count for steps on the fitbit or other health apps as you have. Pushing a shopping cart doesn’t count for steps so I have started pulling it with my non fitbit hand.

  2. Okay, well I only have 805 steps so far this morning and am sooooooo okay with that. Tomorrow starts another challenge in my office of FREAKS who get 15k-to20k steps a day! I have to really work to NOT come in last!

    Have a great day Eric!

    • Weekends are always slow for me. As of right now, 1:10 pm I have 999 steps. In the summer I can easily get 15 – 20k when I’m outsidelaying all day (or mowing). I have a weekly challenge with some friends and this week one of them got 109k in 5 days. I can’t compete with that!

  3. Thanks for the shout out; it really means a lot! Thank you!

I’ve often threatened my wife with me buying a fitbit–I’m always trying to explain how I’m so physically exhausted from my work with all the standing, walking, stairs, running, back and forth that I do during the day–I swear that I’ve run at least a 5K.

Cheers to you doing so much. You’re a better man than I 😀

    • You’re welcome for the shout out. Just something I enjoy doing. There are step counter apps you can get for your phone that work the same way a fitbit does. Then after you show her how much work you actually do you could show your wife you deserve a fitbit 🙂
